2019 GPL Work Study Attachment

June 20, 2019, Georgetown, Guyana: The Guyana Power and Light Inc. hosted an orientation session on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Training and Development Complex, Sophia, for thirty one (31) students selected to participate in GPL’s 2019 Work Study Attachment.

These students were selected from Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions across Guyana and will work along with the staff of GPL Inc. from June 24 to August 16, 2019.

They will gain insight into the world of work through their learning within the Departments/Units of; Transmission & Distribution, Diesel Generation, Human Resources, Finance, Revenue Protection, Quality, Customer Services Dept, Projects and Information Technology.

Work study attachments have been facilitated at GPL throughout our Companys’ existence and forms part of our civic duty to play an active role in developing the skills of students to become dynamic contributors to our Nations’ labour force.
