Job Description/Key Resonsibilities

We are excited to announce the search for a talented, skilled and motivated Welder to join our team at the Facilities Department – Sophia, Georgetown.

Under the general direction of the Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for designs fabrication, joinery and repairs to equipment using welding techniques


1. Carry out basic metalwork.

2. Carry out oxy acetylene and arc welding jobs as may be required from time to time.

3. Responsible to undertake metal burning and cutting activities related to fabricating of various parts as required.

4. Carry out fabrication, joining and repairs of a variety of equipment and structures.


· Knowledge of applicable welding codes

· Knowledge of welding techniques tools and equipment.

· Ability to function independently.

· Must be able to measure, fabricate and weld metal components together when necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. G.T.I. Craft Certificate/Competency Based Education Certificate (Level 1 & 11) in Welding or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with at least five (5) years’ experience in the related field.


2. Alternatively: Seven (7) years’ experience in the relevant field

Salary commensurate with experience.
