SENIOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Job Description/Key Responsibilities
The Guyana Power & Light Inc. invites applicants with the requisite qualifications and experience to fill the position of Senior Corporate Communications Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Conceptualize and execute Programmes aimed at:
1. Conceptualize, Strategize, Formulate and Execute Corporate Media Engagement on behalf of GPL.
2. Manage and coordinate all internal and external engagement on behalf of GPL.
3. Conceptualize and Produce publications on GPL’s Operations.
4. Manage and coordinate the placement of GPL’s Advertisements
5. Manage GPL’s Corporate Website Content.
6. Manage, Supervise and Coordinate Public Relations Operations.
7. Coordinate administrative work for all Corporate Communications Events.
8. Advise GPL’s Executive Management on key stakeholder matters regarding GPL’s Operations.
9. Attend meetings
10. Prepare monthly reports
11. Building an impeccable corporate image for GPL.
12. Increasing revenue collection through Public Relations activities.
13. Improving employee morale.
14. Recommend, develop, implement and assist with the dissemination of publications on GPL’s Operations and methods that ensure a continuous flow of information and feedback.
15. Keep staff informed and involved in developments and events taking place in the Company.
16. Recommend, develop, implement, maintain and evaluate matters and methods to ensure timely communication to the internal and external publics.
17. Populate, manage, maintain and coordinate the content population of the Company’s website with all relevant information regarding GPL’s Operations on a daily, weekly, annual, as well as, on an ad hoc basis.
18. Devise and implement methods to improve the Company’s social relationship with customers, especially in our host communities.
19. Implement Public Relations/Marketing activities relevant to the functions of the Unit.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Communication/Mass Communication or equivalent with at least three (3) years relevant experience
