Job Description/Key Resonsibilities

The opportunity awaits qualified results oriented professionals who are interested in joining our team within the Office of the Team Leader-Management Committee Interested candidates with the requisite qualifications and experience are invited to apply for the vacant position of Project Monitoring Specialist – Duke Street, Georgetown.

 

The Project Monitoring Specialist will assist in the day-to-day monitoring, evaluation, and scheduled reporting of all projects executed within the company, working directly under the guidance of the Team Leader – Management Committee.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

  1. Oversee the timely and quality execution of project work plans, providing detailed monitoring and evaluation of progress.
  2. Serve as the main point of contact between the Team Leader and Project Managers, facilitating the collection of critical project information and ensuring seamless communication.
  3. Conduct on-site evaluations (where applicable) to assess progress relative to project plans and provide status updates.
  4. Prepare and deliver project reports (both qualitative and quantitative), reflecting monitoring efforts as directed by the Team Leader.
  5. Proactively identify delays, issues, or risks during project implementation, providing recommendations and solutions to the Team Leader for corrective actions.
  6. Provide administrative and logistical support for project-related activities, including project staff travel and other cross-departmental matters.
  7. Act as the liaison between the Project Unit and the Executive Team Leader, ensuring efficient communication and addressing project-related queries or concerns.
  8. Utilize various project management software tools to provide executive summaries, detailed performance insights, and data-driven recommendations to improve project outcomes.
  9. Ensure project objectives are consistently aligned with the broader strategic goals of the Executive Team, adjusting deliverables as necessary to meet key performance indicators.
  10. Record and distribute minutes from meetings and field visits, while preparing detailed reports following site inspections.
  11. Perform additional tasks related to project monitoring as assigned by the Team Leader to ensure the successful execution of project deliverables.

  • Be conversant with the GPL’s Policies and Procedures, including Standard Terms and Conditions for an Electric Service, Customer Service Standards, Personnel Policies and Procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  3. At least 3-5 years of experience in project monitoring, preferably within a utility, large corporate, or similar environment.
  4. Proven ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently and effectively.
  5. Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques, with experience using software for tracking and reporting.
  6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a history of producing reports for executive-level stakeholders.
  7. Advanced analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  8. Familiarity with BIS, CIS, HRMIS, and other significant operational systems used within a utility environment would be an asset.
