ELECTRICAL FOREMAN
Job Description/Key Responsibilities
We’re excited to announce the search for a skilled and motivated Electrical Foreman to join our team at the Facilities Management Department – SOPHIA.

SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Civil Engineer -Building Maintenance, the incumbent is responsible for the maintenance works for all electrical installation, electrical appliances and air condition units for buildings in the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
1. Check reported electrical defects to the company’s buildings.
2. Schedule and Execute reports from SYSAID.
3. Supervise and instruct staff and direct reports in safe and efficient practices in keeping with the company’s Safety Rules and Codes and Electrical Regulation.
4. Prepare electrical design and estimates for new or upgraded services.
5. Prepare annual budget for department.
6. Conduct Staff appraisal
7. Advice on damaged done to equipment and fixtures.
8. Supervise all direct reports on electrical installation to buildings.
9. Supervise the servicing of all Air Conditioning units with the company.
10. Supervise all servicing of main, distribution panel and electrical installation to the company’s building.
11. Prepare detailed equipment, materials and financial request and travel requirement for jobs and obtain approval of same when necessary.
12. Prepare Advance for materials/ secure quotation for electrical materials/ AC.
13. Purchase materials, tools and supplies. Maintaining an inventory of materials and equipment.
14. Prepare work programme on weekly basis.
15. Prepare time sheets for direct reports.
16. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with direct reports and other employees.
17. Perform other duties that may be assigned to you within the scope of your employment, from an authorized officer.
COMPETENCY PROFILE:
· Thorough knowledge of Electrical Installation and Electrical regulations/Building codes
· Ability to interpret electrical drawings
· Familiar with the use of MS Suite
· Knowledge of preparation Electrical estimates
· Safety and Health regulations of the company
Required Qualifications and Experience
1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering – University of Guyana or its equivalent from an Accredited Institution, with at least five (3) years’ experience, in the related field at a Supervisory Level.
OR
2. Ordinary Technical Diploma (Electrical) from the Government Technical Institute or its equivalent with five (5) years’ experience in the related field at a Supervisory Level.
OR
3. City & Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate – Part 1 & II or its equivalent with seven (7) years’ experience.
