CARPENTER/JOINER
Job Description/Key Resonsibilities
1. Carry out repairs to timber structures at any location of the Company.
2. Installation of doors and windows to timber frames.
3. Installation of door locks, cupboard locks and form work for all concrete works.
4. Construction of shelves and cupboards.
5. Accurately set out carpentry works in strict accordance with drawings.
6. Ensure that all joints are properly made and secure tightly during carpentry works.
7. Maintain doors, windows, furniture and other items.
8. Construction and repairs to roofs and stairs.
9. Set up scaffolding for all works to building, ceiling flooring and roofing.
10. Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
CARPENTER/JOINER
11. Carry out minor works of bricklaying and concreting.
12. Perform other duties that may be assigned to you within the scope of your employment,
from an Authorized Officer.
COMPETENCY PROFILE:
Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance.
Knowledge of safe operation of basic handheld and power tools.
Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in carpentry.
Knowledge of Bricklaying and Concreting
Good Interpersonal Skills
Self-motivated
Required Qualifications and Experience
1. Three (3) subjects C.S.EC. including Mathematics and Technical Drawing (Grade 1-111)
plus Craft Certificate course in Carpentry & Joinery from GTI with three (3) years
experience.
OR
2. Two (2) subjects C.S.EC. (One (1) must be Mathematics) plus a Certificate in Carpentry
from G.I.T.C. with five (5) years of relevant experience.
