Job Description/Key Responsibilities

We’re excited to announce the search for a resulted oriented, skill and motivated Assistant Corporate Communications Officer – Content Creation & Management to join our team at the Corporate Communications Unit – Duke Street, Georgetown.

SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Corporate Communications Officer, the incumbent will be responsible will assist the Corporate Communications Unit with content creation and management of the Company’s social media platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

1. Develop and implement social media content on the Company’s operations to ensure a continuous flow of information to the public.

2. Manage and optimize the company’s social media pages with appropriate content to increase visibility on each platform.

3. Continuously liaise with divisions across the Company to garner useful and positive information for dissemination purposes.

4. Develop and maintain an effective electronic library of corporate photographs and videos to assist in illustrating and presenting corporate efforts for continuous service improvement.

5. Provide graphic illustrations (photographs and videos) of staff engaging in proactive and reactive activities such as Planned and Unplanned Network Maintenance, Outreaches and Customer Service Representative interactions.

6. Design and edit image boosting materials such as events/promotions, flyers, posters, pamphlets and materials for social media platforms and website.

7. Develop weekly content regarding ongoing projects and initiatives within GPL.

8. Produce monthly Reports on the state of social media accounts.

9. Design reports, publications, posters, brochures to project and maintain a positive corporate image.

10. Assist with coordinating and attending Community Outreaches with the Customer Services and Distribution Network Divisions.

11. Develop and maintain contact with communities and beneficiaries of impactful GPL projects/initiatives.

12. Assist with conducting Quarterly Surveys to gauge the effectiveness of the Unit’s information dissemination initiatives.

13. Assist in the production of a monthly newsletter.

14. Perform other duties that may be assigned to you within the scope of your employment from an Authorized Officer.

COMPETENCY PROFILE:

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Be conversant with the GPL’s Commercial Policies and Procedures, including Customer Service

Standards – 2011-2012, Personnel Policies and Procedures, the Factories, Occupational Safety

and Health, Electricity Sector Reform, the Public Utility and the Environmental Acts. Also GPL

Inc. License which includes the Standard Terms and Conditions of Electric Services

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Public/Mass Communication or equivalent with at least two (2) years relevant experience.

or

2. Diploma in Public Relations Public/Mass Communication or equivalent with at least three (3) years relevant experience.

or

3. Certified skills in Social Media and Content Development or related certified skills from a reputable academic institution with at least (3) years relevant experience.
