Metering Replacement Exercise
During the period Monday, September 28 to Friday, October 2, 2020, representatives from the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL Inc.) will be conducting a meter replacement exercise for customers with defective meters and unmetered supply connections within the communities identified below.
Communities:
- New Amsterdam to Crabwood Creek
- Bygeval to Ithaca
- Mahaica
Our field activities will be conducted during the hours of 08:00 hours to 16:30 hours daily.
In the interest of safety for our valued customers and staff, customers are reminded of the following:
GPL Staff Identification
GPL employees are required to wear identification badges and outfitted in official company uniforms or shirts/jerseys bearing the Company’s logo when executing field work.
Customers reserve the right to refuse entry to their premises if any employee is not attired as described above.
Access Boundaries
GPL’s primary access to customers’ premises legally ends at the point of the Metering Instrument (Meter and Meter Box) and at no time should we demand access into your homes or businesses.
If for any reason, a situation presents itself where entering a customer’s home/business becomes necessary, all necessary formalities would be established and discussed prior to the arrival of our crew(s).
