Project Description
Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) is implementing the Guyana Utility-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Program (GUYSOL) as part of its commitment to a sustainable energy future.
The GUYSOL initiative, funded by the Guyana/Norway partnership with an estimated investment of US$83.3 million, aims to diversify Guyana’s energy mix.
Under the Guyana Utility Scale Solar Photovoltaic Program (GUYSOL), 8 Solar Farms are being constructed across Regions 2, 5, 6, and 10 for 33MWp.

The Program is administered by the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB), and aligns with Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy. The initiative emphasizes climate-resilient renewable energy resources in electricity generation.
