  • This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no.IDB89-01/15 of January 15, 2015.
  • The Government of Guyana has received a Loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and a Grant from the Caribbean Investment Facility (CIF) of the European Union (EU) for a Power Utility Upgrade Program (PUUP). Through the Executing Agency, Guyana Power & Light Incorporated the Program is being implemented. The Executing Agency intends to apply a part of the financing to payments for Goods and Services for execution of the Program under the Contract for ICB No. : GPLIDB-SMU-001/2020.
  • The Executing Agency, Guyana Power and Light Inc., now invites sealed bids from eligible andqualified bidders for the Procurement of its Social Management Program.
  • Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the Inter-American Development Bank’s Policies for the Procurement of Goods and Works financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (GN-2349-9), and is open to all Eligible bidders as defined in the Policies.
  • Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Guyana Power and Light Inc., Program Coordinating Unit, during office hours 09:00hrs to 16:00 hrs at the address given below and inspect the Bidding Documents at the same address.
  • A complete set of Bidding Documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee GY$3,000.00. The Bidding Documents will be delivered on a flash drive. The method of payment will be cash and a receipt will be provided.
  • Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below at 09:00 hours on January 26th, 2021. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of GY$200,000.00.
